About Me

Hi, I’m Crystal Hollis — a data science enthusiast with a passion for public health, ethics in AI, and storytelling through code and visuals. With a background in media production and a recent pivot into machine learning and geospatial analysis, I’m dedicated to using technology to improve health outcomes and address disparities.

Before returning to school for Python, GIS, and health-focused data science courses, I earned my B.A. in Radio, Television and Film and my M.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Interactive and Virtual Digital Communication. My early work focused on communication strategy, media management, and content production.

After experiencing healthcare challenges firsthand — both personally and within my family — I became driven to apply my technical skills to problems that matter. Whether I'm scripting a geocoder, building a predictive model for maternal health, or cleaning messy datasets in R, my goal is always the same: make a meaningful impact.
